We went to see the Yamakasa festival early morning today.
It is said that a monk was carried on a shelf for sprinkling holy water in order to drive away a plague in 1241 and the Yamakasa festival is believed to have originated in this event. Now the Yamakasa is held for a rite of the Kushida Shrine.
The full-blown summer has come!
